i tried AI slop
I've been getting into cars and would love to drive with my girlfriend in the future and I saw some tiktoks about generating speeding tickets and stuff with AI and thought about trying it out. It looks weird, but I kinda like it. NO TO CLAIMING THAT IT IS REAL (but also no to replicating it in real life just for fun). I'm not entirely sure if this exact product is unethical, kindly educate me if it is.

hiii, ako si gabi. I'm currently studying in Sydney, but I've lived mostly in The Philippines, bouncing back and forth from Manila and Makati/Taguig. I used to make short videos and edits about things I found beautiful and put cool music in the background. And then I took an interest in photography, taking photos of the same beautiful things around me. I tried different cameras, different genres, and different subjects. Then I tried writing poems about my life and whatever I was feeling and incorporate it with the images i took. Then I made this website. I also made small zines and other kinds of vulnerable pieces. After all of that, I took a break from the poems and I'm currently just messing with different kinds of art. Making collages, mixed-media work and short videos, and other things like that. I love tape, laser printing, scanners, contrast, stickers, cameras, old technology, music, thrift stores, and my girlfriend.

there's so much ai in everything
i've been noticing the rising number of "covers" of songs in different genres. the idea is not something out of the ordinary as most online users come across this kind of music in one way or another, but it's alarming how people are now using clankers to generate all this genre swap cover slop.
it became very obvious to me that it really was all ai when checking the youtube channels that often post these songs have no other videos other than these covers of all these artists. They don't have any bands or anything.
another indication was finding those same types of videos but of music from my country. the program they used had a hard time pronouncing some words and couldn't follow the rhythms.
I hate improper use of generative AI!!!

I'm a bit emotional in writing this. 2025 was a whole lot to process and go through. We both went through a lot and we are so lucky to be where we are right now.
